« Gilles Larvor, né lui même en banlieue parisienne, s’est immergé durant 15 ans dans le Val Nord. Jeune photographe, pas encore professionnel, il commence à photographier la ZUP d’Argenteuil en 1984.[...] Très proche de ses sujets, il veut leur permettre de participer à quelque chose. Leur permettre de raconter leur histoire et de constituer une mémoire. Il en tire des images d’une intense poésie donnant un écho aux jeunes qui proclament “On vit avec le béton dans la tête, c’est notre histoire”.

«Gilles Larvor, was born in the Parisian suburbs, and immersed himself for 15 years in the Val Nord. At that time he was a young photographer, not yet professional. He started to photograph the ZUP of Argenteuil in 1984. [...] Very close to his subjects, he wanted to allow them to be part of something.
